The Quickening

The Quickening presents a diverse undergrowth of mushrooms. Within this intricate world, a dead bird lies hidden, its presence subtle, positioned at the Golden Section. The work embodies the cycle of quickening, when spring is on its way, when life emerges after winter. Each cap and stem contributes to the sense of surge, of proliferating energy. The piece is both elegy and celebration, placing mortality within the larger rhythm of resilience.
